Should India follow in the footsteps of UK?

by venkateswarlu @ 2008-02-16 - 19:36:20

Smokers in Britain may soon need a permit worth 10 pounds to buy cigarettes. British government's health advisory body hopes the permit, without which no one would be allowed to buy cigarettes, will deter people from smoking.

Should India follow the same? Will a mandatory permit to smoke deter people from persisting with the smoking habit? Will the inconvenience in buying a pack of cigarettes ultimately help them kick the butt? Write in with your views
